Constructed from precision-machined 4140 steel, the Park Tool BBT-169 is a heavy duty tool for the removal and installation of select bicycle components with 16-notch tool fittings, including bottom brackets, center lock disc brakes, and e-bike motor lockrings. The BBT-169 is designed to be compatible with any bottom bracket with the corresponding tool fitting, with an extra-deep body to accommodate extra-wide spindles and low-profile walls at the point of engagement for recessed lockrings. The BBT-169 has three methods of tool engagement—a 3/8" drive fitting, a 1" hex fitting, and 36 mm wrench flats—allowing you to take on even the most seized bottom bracket cups. For added stability, the BBT-169 features integrated threads for use with the Park Tool BBT-RS Bottom Bracket Tool Retaining System or GPS-1 Guide Pins (each sold separately). Fits 16-notch threaded bottom bracket tool fittings with a major diameter (outside of notches) of 44–45 mm and a minor diameter (inside of notches) of 42.7 mm, including: Shimano BB80, BB5700, XT BB70, BB51, and previous external bearing threaded bottom bracket cups Threaded bottom bracket cups from Campagnolo, Chris King, FSA MegaExo, Hope, SRAM/Truvativ GXP, Race Face X-type, Surly, Wheels, Fulcrum, and others Center lock disc brake rotor lockrings Bafang BBSH, BBS02 mid-drive motor lockrings Tool specifications: 3/8" drive fitting 1" and 36 mm wrench flats 50.04 mm (1.97") outer diameter at point of engagement Internal clearance: 42 mm (1.654") depth (from tool face) x 30.44 mm (1.198") diameter Not rated for use with impact drivers
